WHITE TRUFFLE lat. Tuber Magnatum Pico
The white truffle is the most expensive and top quality mushroom in the world. Its season lasts from September until the end of January. Its smell is characteristic and intense. Its colour can be light brown, ocher and light green. Its colour and smell depend on the type of the soil and the tree with which the truffle lives in symbiosis. Those trees are usually oak, poplar, linden or wild hazelnut, and the truffles are growing at a depth of 5 to 30cm. The white truffle can be found in various sizes. From small specimens weighing from 1 to 2g to big specimens weighing up to 1kg, but those specimens only exist in small quantities. From September to January, our selection includes only fresh white truffles.
